A Barbizon (proche de Fontainebleau), Restaurant l'Angelus

Si vous cherchez un cadre charmant un samedi soir d'été, alors n'hésitez pas!
L'Angelus a une superbe terrasse ombragée donnant sur une rue calme.
Le service est sympathique mais l'attente entre les plats est un peu lente au moment des "coups de feu".
Les plats sont tout à fait honorables pour le prix mais pourraient être plus recherchés. Pour une centaine d'euros à la carte à deux, nous avons dégusté:
- un cocktail de fruits en apéritif
- une cassolette de moules, classique
ou une salade de chèvre chaud, classique aussi
- un trou normand
- des riz de veau, en plat du jour (incontestablement le meilleur plat)
ou un filet de boeuf Rossini (sauce un peu trop... épaisse et banale)
- des profiteroles au chocolat +++
ou un nougat glacé (trop glacé au moment du service)
- un verre de vin
Bref, une bonne adresse, rapport qualité/prix honorable pour les mets et surtout un cadre vraiment charmant.

The lovely terrace at L'Angelus is a wonderful setting for a relaxing summer dinner. And be prepared to relax, for you will be there quite some time. The food is classic French, not terribly inventive, but "correct," and reasonably priced, especially if you're used to paying Parisian prices. All in all, a decent setup for an enjoyable evening, except for the noticeable lack of staff. On a Saturday night, there were only 3 servers for 20+ tables, all occupied. To compensate, the servers wrote down orders on a small piece of paper, which they left on the table. There were no servers dedicated to one's particular table, but rather, each would randomly stop by when he/she had a free moment (not often), glance at your order, and try to figure out where you were in the course of things -- utter confusion. This was how we nearly ended up being served our appetizers twice, and how we then waited almost an hour between the appetizer and the main course. A couple next to us waited about 30 minutes just to get their menus. The kitchen seemed to be a long distance from the terrace, adding to the delay. To be sure, the servers seemed very nice and well-intentioned, but one might expect better organization from one of the more formal restaurants in Barbizon.

Fontainebleau et ses environs: la Ferme des Vosves, chambre d'hôte

La propriétaire, Mme Lemarchand, nous a accueilli très chaleureusement. Le cadre est charmant et notre chambre (la petite maison), simple (déco un peu ancienne) et spacieuse. La literie mériterait toutefois d'être renouvelée. Le petit déjeuner est servi dans une grande salle à manger avec des confitures maison. Bref, pour 65 euros tout compris, une bonne étape autour de Fontainebleau.
